Is Art Licensing Right For You?

Let’s face it, not everyone can knock out a painting a week like Val so how can you increase your income from your art if you only complete one painting a month or three in a year?  One answer may be to grant a license for someone to use your art on a product they are selling in large quantities.

An art license is limited to a specific product and specific period of time and is often issued in exchange for a percentage of the sales.  This percentage is called a royalty.

If you have put your work on a Zazzle or Cafe Press and offered that product for sale you have already agreed to licensing your work to those companies in exchange for a royalty.

Licensing your art offers you the opportunity to earn continuing income from single piece of art.

Tara Reed has put together many highly informative books, videos and audio recordings on the subject of art licensing and she even offers courses on how to get started.
